There are lots of reasons to use mobile everyone has one with them at all time, mobile is cheaper than email and way cheaper than paper based DM, it’s direct, instant and takes minutes to set up a campaign. The open rates for SMS are almost 100% and unlike DM or email people never change their address. Interestingly there are now 3 billion mobile phones out there and there are also more mobile internet connections out there than PC based internet connections.

Would you let someone read your text messages?! Remember first and foremost unlike paper DM (or email to some extent) mobile is the most personal of all media! So, make sure that the people on your list have given their permission to be contacted. Also when you’re sending text messages don’t blast out any old thing make sure you send out something of value. Above all be nice!
